Fried Chicken




Fried Chicken:

- Chicken pieces (like thighs, drumsticks, or breasts)
- Seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika)
- All-purpose flour
- Buttermilk or beaten eggs for dredging
- Vegetable oil for frying
To prepare, season the chicken pieces, dredge them in buttermilk or beaten eggs, then coat with seasoned flour. Fry in hot oil until golden and cooked through.

Cornbread:

- Cornmeal
- Flour
- Sugar
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Milk or buttermilk
- Eggs
- Melted butter or oil
Mix the dry ingredients, then add the milk, eggs, and melted butter to form a batter. Pour into a greased pan and bake until golden.


 Red Beans and Rice:

- Red beans (soaked overnight and drained)
- Andouille sausage, sliced
- Chicken stock
- Onion, bell pepper, celery (The Holy Trinity of Cajun cuisine)
- Garlic
- Creole seasoning
- Cooked white rice
Cook the sausage in a pot until browned, add the vegetables, and cook until soft. Add the beans, stock, seasoning, and simmer until the beans are tender. Serve over cooked rice.

 Southern-style Green Beans :

- Green beans, trimmed
- Bacon or ham hock
- Onion, diced
- Chicken broth or water
- Salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste
