Smothered Chicken (Main Star)


Ingredients:

  •  4 chicken thighs or legs
  •  2 tbsp oil
  •  1 tbsp butter
  •  1 onion (sliced)
  •  1 bell pepper (sliced)
  •  3 cloves garlic (minced)
  •  2 tbsp flour
  •  2 cups chicken broth
  •  1 tsp paprika
  •  1 tsp garlic powder
  •  1 tsp onion powder
  •  Salt & black pepper
  •  ½ tsp thyme (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder & onion powder
  2. Heat oil → sear chicken 5–7 min per side until golden → remove
  3. In same pan: add butter + onions + peppers → cook until soft
  4. Add garlic (30 sec)
  5. Sprinkle flour → stir 1 min (this makes gravy)
  6. Slowly add chicken broth → mix well
  7. Return chicken → cover & simmer 25–30 min until tender



 Creamy Baked Mac & Cheese

Ingredients:

  •  2 cups macaroni
  •  2 tbsp butter
  •  2 tbsp flour
  •  2 cups milk
  •  1 cup heavy cream
  •  2 cups cheddar cheese
  •  1 cup mozzarella
  •  Salt, pepper
  •  ½ tsp paprika

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta (al dente)
  2. Melt butter → add flour → cook 1 min
  3. Add milk + cream → stir until thick
  4. Add cheese → melt into creamy sauce
  5. Mix with pasta
  6. Transfer to baking dish → top with extra cheese
  7. Bake 180°C for 20 min until golden 

 Southern Cabbage

Ingredients:

  •  1 cabbage (chopped)
  •  1 onion (sliced)
  •  2 cloves garlic
  •  2 tbsp butter or oil
  •  ½ tsp paprika
  •  Salt & pepper
  •  (Optional: smoked turkey or beef bacon)

Instructions:

  1. Heat butter/oil → cook onion + garlic
  2. Add cabbage → stir well
  3. Season with salt, pepper, paprika
  4. Cover & cook 15–20 min until soft
